Exercise For Constipation Relief

Try to exercise for constipation relief, aside from just tweaking your eating habits. While adding more dietary fiber and liquids to your diet are common constipation treatments, moving your tushy and doing exercises are other ways to beat your digestive worries.

Exercise helps treat constipation as it allows more blood to flow towards the digestive system, particularly the gastrointestinal tract. By doing so, it helps develop stronger muscle contractions and more digestive enzymes during digestion. As exercise improves blood circulation, it also allows us to breathe properly. This is important since one of the constipation causes involves the lack of oxygen

and carbon dioxide during bowel movement. Exercise trains us to get the right mix of oxygen and carbon dioxide needed by the body.

What exercise is best for constipation relief? Fortunately, there are few:

-Aerobic exercises like brisk walking, jogging, running, biking or cycling as well as swimming are excellent exercise for constipation relief. If you are experiencing signs of constipation, daily walks of at least 20 minutes every day would help move your bowels more than you imagine.

-When you’re resting or sitting down, do simple breathing exercises. Slowly breathe in and out to create a healthy breathing pattern. This relaxes the body

and eventually improves the bowel movement when “nature” finally calls.

-Another exercise that’s good for constipation relief is performing yoga positions. These exercises benefit not only our core strength, but for stronger digestive muscles, as well.

Remember that exercise for constipation relief is good. However, do not perform any hard physical activity immediately after eating. This would cause more energy and blood flow towards your heart and your muscles rather than your digestive system. Relax for about 45-60 minutes after eating before doing your workout.

Who would have thought that exercise and constipation would be a good pair? “To relieve constipation, exercise.” Funny, but it’s true.
